World of Warcraft

The first post im going to write in here is about the MMORPG(Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) World of Warcraft.


As you may have heard, people (especially in the news) say that this game is highly addictive and it's dangerous for teenagers to play this game, because (as it's said) they spent their whole time on playing this game and lose their friends and stuff...

Well.. my oppinion is, that this game is just like any other game out there, and is not more addictive then those.

Now... my question is, why did the people chose this game and not FIFA Football or Minesweeper?

    Stuff like FIFA and minesweeper have limited potential, you'll always be doing the same thing. MMORPG's on the other hand allow you to do many things and playing with millions of other players allows for making up your own quests for others or staging epic battles.

    Agreed with Paranormal Explorer, to compare WoW to Fifa or Minesweeper is abit difficult as it has so many more things. Though I know people who are addicted to Fifa. Thanks for sharing!

    People loves world of warcraft because its instant feedback, you do task and the feedback ( xp , gold, stuff) comme instantly, that's what einstein said about dudes who chop trees.

    i have a few friends that play WoW, but i never tried it for real... i guess i'm afraid of being addicted to it, lol.

    I've played WoW for some months and I must admit it's more addctive than other games. Anyway I think it shouldn't be a problem, you just have to be careful.

    Well i stopped playing it after reaching level 9 i think and never touched it again...

    the one thing with MMO's that has that draw is the interaction with other players. Though most people end up playing WoW as a single person RPG

    WOW also has to have 15GB on your hard-drive, not perferred for people with smaller hard drives.

    I think that it is more addictive because of the social aspect that it has. It is a far more social game than say, fifa or halo, which are strictly competitive. I don't play WOW, but know a lot of people who use it as a substitute for face to face human interaction.

    The gameplay probably sucks though......
